What is Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan

In today’s world, it’s important to know how to use technology. It gives an idea of how people use digital technology. A person who knows how to use online messages well is digitally literate.

Everywhere we go, technology is taking over. So, it’s important for both adults and kids to know how to use technology.

This led to the start of the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan. It began as a part of the Digital India Program.

The main goal of this Scheme is to teach literacy to 6 crore rural households.

What is Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan?

It’s the plan that the government came up with as part of the Digital India Program. PMGDISHA wants to teach 6 crore people in rural areas how to use computers. Its goal is to make life better for people in rural areas.

The goal of the scheme was to help up to 40% of rural households get training in digital and IT skills. It was planned that at least one person from each eligible family who didn’t know how to use technology would be chosen. The government had planned to reach this goal by March 31, 2019, but that date has already been passed.

The objective of PMGDISHA

To give people in rural areas more power by teaching them how to use technology.
Tablets, smartphones, and many other kinds of digital devices are among these.
To make it easy for rural people to use government websites by teaching them how to use these apps.
Bridging the digital divide between rich and poor and between cities and towns.
For women to have more power.
To teach everyone in India how to use computers.

Eligibility

PMGDISHA is not open to everyone. To take part in this scheme, you must meet the PMGDISHA’s requirements for eligibility.

A person who doesn’t know how to use computers from every suitable rural home.
People must be between 14 and 60 years old.

The most important things will be

Dropouts and people who only have a basic phone. Adult Literacy Mission participants and people who live in Antyodaya.
Students in grades 9–12 who don’t have access to ICT training and don’t know how to use it.
SC/ST, Women, BPL, People with Disabilities, Minorities.

Course Duration

This programme will take at least 20 hours to finish. It could be kept for at least 10 days and no longer than 30 days.

Training process

It takes 20 hours to train someone. It must be done in at least ten days and no more than thirty days.

Training Partners

Many non-profits, schools, businesses, and other groups back this plan. A PMGDIKSHA training partner should be signed up in India. The partners should have clear goals and well-written plans for how to reach them. They should train people in all areas of education and IT.

Duty of Training Partners

The training partners are in charge of choosing the training centres in the districts, gramme panchayats, and blocks that have been chosen. The assignee would be able to get training at these centres.
Training partners are in charge of making sure that the training centres meet PMGDIKSHA’s needs.
Their job is to check the work of all the centres in their area.
A training partner is responsible for telling the centres about the work that they did.
